I see design as giving form to words: For me, it is the name that defines the overall character of the end product. And the key to starting the whole design process is finding that right word.

Kara

KARA

Carafe and Beakers
Material: Porcelain
Ceramic carafe 90 cl, beaker 15 cl

In the Finnish language Kara means a dried branch. That’s how I wanted Kara to be: unique in shape, smooth to the touch and perfect to hold; just like driftwood found on the deserted shore of a faraway lake.

MIELIKKI

I wanted a vase that would take good care of a flower: Mielikki is the Goddess of the forest and protector of all the animals, trees and plants in Finnish mythology. She’s also the one who decorates the forest.

Two-Piece Flower vase
Outside unglazed porcelain; inside glazed with a choice of various shades of blue.
